This week was also activities that my student teacher has done. I will become moreback active and reflecting once she has left in April.
She have used Kyle Pearce video's to show relationships between pyramids and prisms, cube links to build rectangular based prisms, we also brought back area and perimeter of composite shapes and incorporated Pythagorean Theorem (better known as PT) to these lessons.

Day 18-23
Sorry to all my blog friends.
I have found it hard to post daily about what my student teacher has done.
I am going to try until she is done this placement to keep you informed. This week we more like sprinkled the curriculum. We chunked it with rates, ratios, and proportions however applying some algebra, perimeter and area. It's not how I persoanlly saw moving forward with this course but I do feel like it was the best option to move forward with a student teacher.
She did snap some photos and I will upload them.
I teach this course period three and then I have period 4 prep period. During my prep would be the time I took to blog but now I am giving feedback to my student teacher. This has caused me to forget to blog. My class is back to mine after April 13th and I promise for more consistent blogging ;)

Day 17
Today, my student teacher has taken the lead on teaching Solving Proportions.
She did a lesson that used cube links to model the ratio. Something, I have never thought of doing. Students grasped the concepts with ease and asked to use the manipulatives to solve problems on their tests and EQAO assessment.
She did some examples with them and then set them free to explore the proportions.

Day 13,14,15,16
Day 13
My student teacher gave more time to solve problems around the room. Then, I had them do a post it to prove it. This time the chart paper said x=7. They had to post solutions that would make this possible.

Students worked on a review.
